ABOUT US

As public educators, friends, family members, and acquaintances frequently reach out to us for advice and support as they search for resources for their children. Out of the obvious need for more resources for families, and our passion to help them navigate tricky school systems for their children, Carolee Jackson, M.Ed., founded Colorado Partners in Learning, LLC, a K-12 Educational Advocacy and Consulting firm located in Metro Denver, CO.

As current and former educators, we have sat on the professionals' side of the table for years, trying to solve problems for children and families. While we understand the burden of a lack of resources and competing priorities that school staff constantly carry, we also understand where the hidden leverage points exist. It is because of this experience that we are of most benefit to our clients. We will sit on your side of the table and ask the right questions in order to drive real educational outcomes, without alienating the school staff who work with your child.  We are all too familiar with many educational advocates' aggressive and oppositional approach to advocacy which results in fractured relationships between the educators, parents, and their children. Our goal is never to be at odds with teachers and administrators, because we have walked in their shoes. Collaboration is key. When our services are no longer needed, you will have developed a stronger relationship with the professionals who work with your child every day.

We have a deep passion for helping families ask the right questions, feel supported by school personnel, and get the necessary supports in order for their children to begin to see success.  We have sat on the other side of the table when decisions about programming, services, and accommodations are made in the IEP, 504, ALP, and problem-solving process, and we understand the complex intersections of interventions, discipline, and limited staff resources in meeting the needs of struggling students.

Please reach out today to see how having an educational consultant on your side of the table can change your child's educational future!

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US

I was so overwhelmed and felt unequipped to create a quality 504 plan for my daughter (she has ADHD) entering 6th grade Then a friend suggested that I contact Carolee. From the moment we met, she has been exceptional in every way we needed (and even in ways we didn't know about yet!) She is so knowledgeable and has so much experience about how things work in the school system. She listened, offered options and suggestions, and provided the guidance and support we needed to feel like we could advocate for our daughter within her school system. Carolee handled every detail with professionalism and genuine care. She allowed us to decide just the right of support that we needed from her, and never pushed. We found ourselves wanting to include her in multiple aspects of our child's educational experience. She became a trusted confidante and supported us as parents, so that we could make decisions that were best for our daughter and family. She gave us confidence in becoming effective advocates ourselves for our own daughter. I would highly recommend Carolee to anyone interested in partnering with a trusted and knowledgeable professional who can offer sound guidance and support for both children and their parents.
